Religion is one of the
longest standing institutions in our modern society. Many people around the
world still worship their religion every day and seek out a place of worship
that is peaceful and tranquil. Religion binds people and unifies different
people and cultures from all over the world.
Many religious groups
and religious institutions need logo designs however, what they hope to
accomplish with their logo design may be slightly different than what a company
hopes to accomplish with its logo design. Companies need logo designs because a
company’s logo design will help them secure new business and therefore help
them to make more money. A religious group or institution is different in that
they do not seek profits. Instead, a religious group or institution will use
its logo design to attract people to their religion or religious group so that
they may be educated and achieve salvation.
Religious logo designs
or logo templates often use similar imagery. Crosses, stars, chalices and doves
are all common symbols used in religious logo designs. These symbols represent
religious values such as peace, humanity, faith and spirituality. If you are a
modern religious group or institution, perhaps it is best to steer away from
this type of classic religious imagery and instead, try something different.
Gold is one of the
most common colours used in religious logo designs because it represents glory
and exultation. Other religiously symbolic colours are also often used in
religious logo designs or logo templates. For example, purple is often used
because it represents Christ’s sorrow whereas yellow represents light and
blessings. Green is also sometimes used in religious logo designs to represent
life while red is also sometimes used to represent passion.
Although
churches may not use business cards, they still need their logos to be scalable
and legible because religious logos are often printed on brochures and
pamphlets for religious activities, fundraisers and meetings.
